About Spencer’s Therapy Practice

Who do We Treat?

At Spencer’s Therapy Practice our therapists work with individuals experiencing a variety of different diagnoses. We often work with children, adolescents & young adults experiencing challenges with friends or other social difficulties and anxiety. We also work with individuals experiencing school difficulties or work difficulties including perfectionism, underperforming or behavioral difficulties.

You or your child may not have an official diagnosis—that is okay! Part of our intake process includes preliminary diagnosis. If you already have a diagnosis —we often work with clients with Social Anxiety, ADHD, General Anxiety, OCD, ASD and co-occurring diagnoses.

Our therapists have worked with a variety of age groups during their careers as therapists including children and adults (6-65+ years old).

We specialize in children, adolescents and young adults (usually ages 6-25* years old). This means that we have had additional training & experience in treating children and adolescents in addition to the typical adult training all therapists receive.

*If your child is 4 or 5 and you’re having difficulty finding services, please call us for a free 15-minute consultation call and we can discuss if we can accommodate your needs.

Style of Therapy

All of our therapists use a strengths based approach, meaning we believe in elevating our clients’ inherent strengths and teaching them to use these strengths to overcome challenges.

We provide a warm and inviting atmosphere to explore thoughts and feelings. We have been trained in a variety of different therapies including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, Parent Management, Motivational Interviewing, EMDR, ACT and several other modalities.

If you are curious about a specific type of therapy please inquire and we may already have expertise in that area.

We keep a low caseload of clients compared to other practices.

Our therapists are available to families right away and can schedule sessions day of if necessary. We also have  flexibility in scheduling and ability to coordinate with schools and psychiatrists in a timely manner. We will always respond to emails in one business day.
